Top Free Activities in Marco Island and Naples, FL

Marco Island is one of the most desirable destinations in the United States, and certainly our favorite place to be (though we must admit, we’re biased). Do Some Window (Or Booth) Shopping at the Marco Island Farmers Market

While there are plenty of items to peruse at the farmers market, you don’t have to buy anything (though you’ll undoubtedly be tempted). The good news is, the produce here is priced reasonably, especially for its quality. Plus, your purchases go straight towards supporting the local community. You need to eat on vacation anyway, and buying produce from the market and preparing it yourself is a more budget-friendly option than going out to dinner!
Location: 901 Park Ave, Marco Island, FL
Hours: Wednesdays, starting November 12, 2025, through April 15, 2026
Marco Island Nature Preserve and Bird Sanctuary
Are you a nature enthusiast? You can see local wildlife up close at the Marco Island Nature Preserve and Bird Sanctuary!
There’s a nature trail here where you can appreciate birds and other wildlife, and there’s plenty to see: over 57 species of birds have been spotted here! The preserve is especially dedicated to conserving local eagle populations, and you can support their efforts here.
Immerse Yourself at the Marco Island Center for the Arts
Marco Island Center of the Arts is the perfect activity for a rainy day (or any day, for art lovers!). The entire center is free, and there are always new and exciting things to do here.
Exhibitions in the art center change every few months, so you can see something new even if you’ve been here before. There are also plenty of events beyond the visual arts, like their Annual Golf Tournament, Gala, the Festival of Trees, and the Musical Interludes series that features a multitude of performers, including locals and those passing through the area.
If you’re traveling with kiddos, this is a great stop. The center has youth programs designed to nurture creativity in little ones, and they’ll love spending the day painting, drawing, and creating to their heart’s content!
