We enjoyed our stay at this Goodland Island cottage. The back deck and screened in porch were favorite places to sit and read or watch spectacular sunsets. We loved being able to walk to four different restaurants as well as the marina.

Upon check in, noticed a mini fridge next to main fridge. Strange, but main fridge was plugged in and freezer was cold with ice in it. Thought the mini fridge was maybe just extra for drinks, actually a good idea. Went shopping, filled the fridge up for the week ahead. The next day it became clear why the mini fridge was there. The main refrigerator was not working at all. Had to discard most everything that was put in there from the night before. The reaction from management over and again was that the fridge wasn’t that old and the parts/replacement were on order, as if that made it ok for us to do without. If there was a forthright attempt to communicate this, much of the waste could have been avoided but it was left for me to figure out the hard way. So, I had to purchase a cooler, supply the ice for all week and replenished our food. It gets worse. The subpar fridge replacement was plugged into a circuit that created an unsafe overload situation (they sent an electrician, his words). They did offer a small refund, an amount which didn’t even cover my out of pocket costs. Close to 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard or seen anything. Very disappointed. Things happen, but how this was reacted to, and the lack of communication could have avoided much of the loss/inconvenience, not to mention the biggest issue which was putting their guests safety in jeopardy as a result of their negligence.

I would add that everything I have stated is true and I stand by it. The response that suggests I have made false statements may be libel, everything in writing is preserved. Will have to look into that one. The “good faith offer” was never sent as agreed and then it was only offered upon the removal of my honest review. I only wanted what I felt I was due for my loss and extra out of pocket expense, not anything above and was definitely not a trade off for the review.

Unfortunately the boat lift was not made for a normal size boat. The canal was not accessible by boat due to the lack of water in the canal. The house was very nice inside and out. We ended up having to use the local boat ramp at $20 a day. A little disappointing when we were planning on having our boat in the back yard to enjoy and watch evening sunsets.

We had a great time in Goodland thanks to this amazing house and location! We were walking distance to great entertainment and great food. The kids loved access to the kayaks and bikes that were provided by the owners. The kids also loved to fish off the back patio (we brought our own fishing rods). Management communicated well with us from the get-go and responded quickly with any questions.The house was just right for us and our 2 grandchildren, ages 13 and 11. The kitchen was well equipped with a microwave, drip coffee maker, blender and toaster. The house has AC and the Direct TV was appreciated by the kids! Will definitely stay again!

Paradise has been found. What an amazing destination. Our friends told us about this place- they had such a fantastic time we had to see for ourselves. Property is in a fantastic location, Clean and new inside. The local restaurants were all fantastic and a short walk. There are bikes in the garage and we used those to tour the Island at Sunset a couple nights. This is definitely a must see location.

Excellent all round. It was our home from home, very comfortable, lots of space, large, netted outdoor seating area for watching the sunset, shaded (in the morning) deck beside the canal for sitting in the morning, comfortable bed, brilliant, large shower, all very clean. We went everywhere on the great bikes provided, and there are also kayaks and a barbecue. Goodland is very laid back, with friendly locals, and daily live music and fantastic seafood. This was a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying this part of Florida. Extremely good value.

We truly enjoyed our stay on Goodland. We were a short walk to all the restaurants, Stan's Idle Hour and the Marina. We walked around Goodland every morning and evening. Form the Lanai we enjoyed our evening cocktails while watching the sunset over the Canal.

The house was nice and in good condition, small, but it has everything we needed and it was very clean and everything felt new.

We had never stayed on Goodland before, but after this experience we will definitely come back. The relaxing feeling in this community is second to none.

We would recommend this house to somebody who doesn't want to be in a high rise condo. If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing vacation with a property that offers a boat lift, water front deck, a nice yard with bikes, kayaks and in short walking distance to everything than this is it.

This was our first time staying in Goodland and it was better than we could have expected! We were a short walk to all of our favorite restaurants and were able to dock our boat on the lift and leave the trailer in the driveway! So much easier than our previous house rental on Marco Island! Highly recommend!
